Everybody Love Everybody Many people are aware of the largest hate groups found in the United States. Two of them being the Ku Klux Klan and the New Black Panther Party. They threaten or harm a specific population, and both cause diversity in the United States. The Black Lives Matter movement is a hate group because they threaten and harm a specific population using physical abuse and speech while causing diversity in the United States. Mark Twain once said, â€Å"Actions speak louder than words†. Although many hate groups use speech to get their point across, most will rely on inflicting physical punishment to groups of people. The Ku Klux Klan (KKK), a white supremacist hate group, has targeted both African Americans, and any Republicans who support African Americans and their rights. According to History channel’s article, Ku Klux Klan, over 400 members of the organization raided a South Carolina county prison to beat and hang eight African American inmates. Many inmates during the time of the Civil Rights Movement were innocent protesters with the aim of equality. Many of these students have lived their whole lives in the U.S, but we still consider them illegal immigrants who have the right to go to college but decide not to because they can’t afford to. A Surprise Connection July 2016, a month that changed my life for the better. It was the day I met my soon to be step-mom who actually is my "step aunt". I was in Ethiopia for one of my other uncles weddings and when I got to my grandfather's house my legal guardian who also is one of my uncles had a nice surprise for the family as he had brought along his new girlfriend that no one had even seen before. There she was just standing there, me and her had cross paths before but we had never spoken to each other before, she seemed a shy and kind women as she was quite reserved and seemed nervous to be meeting so many new people. While at this time we were just total strangers by the end of my stay in Ethiopia my new "step aunt" would become probably the most important person in my life. Let's start of by giving a a little background on my aunt, she was born and raised back home in Ethiopia and moved to Philadelphia when she was about 7 years old. She lived there with her parents and two older brothers in a suburban area. She lived their her whole life until she moved down here with us and her parents still live there to this day. I later found out this was the reason I had never seen her before as she had been dating my uncle for a year before we met in Ethiopia but since she lived in Philly, they had a long distance relationship that I never knew about.While she is only a few years younger (34) than my uncle (38) she is a very young soul and she relates to me with many things, which is partly why our relationship would grow so strong over the coming years. So, after my other uncles wedding she came back to my house here In Maryland which would now be her new home. One thing that should definitely be made clear is that I do not come from a "normal" house per say, I am adopted by aforementioned uncle and we live with his mother (my grandma) in a little two level house. Growing up as the only child in the house made me very isolated as I had nobody to talk to or nobody to interact with in general. When I would come home from school I would go straight to my room and not talk to anyone for hours, sometimes I woudn't even talk until the next day when I was at school. My uncle worked all day and whenever he was home all we did was argue. My grandma has trouble speaking English and my Amharic (Ethiopia's native language) isn't very good which meant it was hard for me to communicate with her also. All of this changed however once my new "step-aunt" arrived, as she quickly would change my household completely. Before she came my grandma did most of the cooking and cleaning but of course she was getting old now and couldn't do things that she used to be able to, because of this the condition of our house had deteriorated somewhat. Not only did my aunt quickly have the house looking better she would also help my grandma with cooking and since she was a lot younger she could make dishes that appealed more to me. This was key because there had been times before she came where I went weeks without a home cooked meal as I would just eat takeout or easy to make processed food. While her cooking and cleaning defiantly help it wasn't even the most important change that she brought to the house and more specifically to my life. The important thing was that she became someone I could go to no matter what, whether it was a life or death choice, or I just needed someone to talk to o n a random Wednesday night, she was always there for me. I don't even think she realizes how much I cherish these moments as I went years feeling isolated and lonely, but now with her here I feel much more

Old World Monkeys - Cercopithecidae Old World monkeys (Cercopithecidae) are a group of simians native to Old World regions including Africa, India and Southeast Asia. There are 133 species of Old World monkeys. Members of this group include macaques, geunons, talapoins, lutungs, surilis, doucs, snub-nosed monkeys, proboscis monkey, and langurs. Old World monkeys are medium to large in size. Some species are arboreal while others are terrestrial. The largest of all Old World monkeys is the mandrill which can weigh as much as 110 pounds. The smallest Old World monkey is the talapoin which weighs about 3 pounds. Old World monkeys are generally stocky in build and have fore limbs that are in most species shorter than hind limbs. Their skull is heavily ridged and they have a long rostrum. Almost all species are active during the day (diurnal) and are varied in their social behaviors. Many Old World monkey species form small to medium sized groups with complex social structure. The fur of Old World monkeys is often gray or brown in color although a few species have bright markings or more colorful fur. The texture of the fur is not silky nor is it woolly. The palms of the hands and soles of the feet in Old World monkeys are naked. One distinguishing characteristic of Old World monkeys is that most species have tails. This distinguishes them from the apes, who do not have tails. Unlike New World monkeys, the tails of Old World monkeys are not prehensile. There are a number of other characteristics that distinguish Old World monkeys from New World monkeys. Old World monkeys are comparatively larger than the New World monkeys. They have nostrils that are positioned close together and have a downward facing nose. Old World monkeys have two premolars that have sharp cusps. They also have opposable thumbs (similar to the apes) and they have nails on all fingers and toes. New World monkeys have thumbs that are in line with their fingers and grip with a scissor-like motion. They do not have fingernails except for some species that have a nail on their largest toe. Reproduction: Old World monkeys have a gestation period of between five and seven months. Young are well developed when they are born and females usually give birth to a single offspring. Old World monkeys reach sexual maturity at about five years of age. The sexes often look quite different (sexual dimorphism). Diet: Most species of Old World monkeys are omnivores although plants form the larger portion of their diet. Some groups are almost entirely vegetarian, living on leaves, fruit and flowers. There are two subgroups of Old World monkeys, the Cercopithecinae and the Colobinae. Imagine that your college announces it is raising tuition (something many colleges are doing due to drops in government funding). The public relations office issues a press release about the increase. What do you imagine that release will say? Well, if your college is like most, it will probably stress how modest the increase is, and how the school still remains very affordable. Itll probably also talk about how the hike was absolutely necessary for the face of continuing funding cuts, and so on. The release may even have a quote or two from the president of the college saying how much he/she regrets having to pass the ever-increasing cost of running the place on to students and how the raise was kept as modest as possible. All of this may be perfectly true. But who do you think wont be quoted in the college press release? Students, of course. The people who will be affected most by the hike are the very ones who wont have a say. Why not?
